RPNVG – RUGGEDIZED PANNING NIGHT VISION GOGGLE
The RPNVG – Ruggedized Panning Night Vision Goggle from AB NightVision Inc. is an extremely tough, full featured night vision binocular with panning and modular functionality. Unlike fixed bridge binoculars before it, the RPNVG offers the ability to go from a collimated straight forward view to a wide-angle panning view. The optical pods can also be removed without the use of tools to allow the user to have two monoculars.
The binocular uses lightweight push button switches with the IR illuminator switch recessed within a fence to prevent accidental activation. The unit features “IR Illuminator On” and “Low Battery” indicators within the viewing area. An IR spot/flood adapter can be added if the user desires more range from their IR illuminator.
The RPNVG is available in CR123 battery style. It also includes an auxiliary port which allows for the use of an external ANVIS style battery pack (for battery packs outputting up to 3.3v maximum.)
RPNVG optics feature a full range of adjustment. The Mil-spec Objectives allows the user to focus between 9.8 inches and infinity, while the Mil-spec Eyepieces offer a diopter adjustment range of -6 to +2. The interpupillary distance is adjustable to match the user’s eye spacing from 51mm to 73mm.

FAQ:
Q: Will I be able to purchase just the optical and a mono battery adapter as a mono by itself?
A: The RPNVG will be sold as a bino unit only. Left and right mono battery adapters will be available for purchase separately.
Q: Will I be able to use a spot/flood adapter with it?
A: While both the bino and the mono battery adapters will have an IR feature, only the bino will be able to accept a spot/flood adapter.
Q: Can I use a ball detent adapter with the RPNVG?
A: No. This is a dovetail only bino.
Q: Can I use my MOD-3 mono battery adapter with the RPNVG optical pod?
A: No. While the RPNVG will offer modular functionality like the MOD-3, the two products will not be interchangeable. The MOD-3 optical pods are made from Delrin plastic while the RPNVG optical pods will be made from 7075-aluminum so the design and fit will not be the same.
Q: Is there a Variable Gain version of the RPNVG available?
A: Not currently. While we would like to eventually offer a VG version of this goggle, there are no immediate plans to do so.
Q: My RPNVG sits a little close to my face when switching to panning view. Is there an alternative dovetail available?
A: Yes. The RPNVG Dovetail Spacer Kit is available for purchase through our authorized dealers. It includes one original RNVG Dovetail, one RNVG to RPNVG Dovetail Spacer piece, and four dovetail screws. Here is an image of the RPNVG Spacer Kit contents:
